'No one wants to listen to my show'
|
The honest fact is that everyone would rather be back home doing something else. With the realisation, my talk show on Sunday nights has developed over the years to give the casual listener a surprise or two. The guests are mostly local people who are exceptionally enthusiastic about something - the may not be athletes, musicians or creative individuals. Or the might not be. Enthusiasm is the only criteria. The past 12 months have featured some remarkable individuals - Stu Goldcrusher - Strongman and "Face of Wolverhampton Millennium City" Coventry's Clive Burbage _ Director of the Channel Swimming Association; Wednesbury's Fred Barnfield - famous artist; Tipton's Dave Bartley - WHR's resident Black Country Poet; Smethwick's Nigel Self - songwriter and musician. came to the station as a guest and left as a friend and our Patron. Battle of the Band's runners up "Amazing Willie" and "The Treehouse Gang", fronted by Francesca Davis joined me, giving the station an exclusive radio edit of their best work. Bands James Dean's Car and The Sessions played live in the studio: both gave excellent performances and left exclusive recordings of their work for me to share with the listeners. I was proud too, to have been joined on air by two of my childhood heroes: Dave Gauder - holder of 17 uncontested strength records and Terry Marsh - undefeated World Light Welterweight Boxing Champion. Both were amazing Guests. With drama on the high seas from the crew of Radio Earthquake (see also www.danearthquake.com/radioearthquake.htm) and regular visits from Natural Healer Sandy Edwards from Rushall Healing Group, positive energy is the prescription when you listen to Dan Earthquake's Positive Revolution on Walsall Hospital Radio. Dan Earthquake - Sunday 8-10pm. |
