Bruce George, MP - Patron

Home

Having been involved in many aspects of Walsall Manor Hospital for over thirty years as the MP for Walsall South, I am pleased to have been invited to be Patron of Walsall Hospital Radio.

Walsall Hospital Radio provides a wonderful service free of charge to all sections of the community, and attempts to cater for all tastes in it's programmes. The volunteers give a considerable amount of time and effort to keep the station running, and I believe that their concept of Hospital Radio is a valuable addition to the care available at Walsall Manor Hospital.

As an enthusiastic fan of real music (the Hollies, Abba, jerry Lee Lewis, Cliff Richard, Marty Wilde, Tina Turner, Suzi Quattro) I was pleasantly surprised that to hear that these, and many others from my generation are still on the station's playlist.

Undoubtedly, in my view, the hospital radio service makes a positive contribution to the listeners - the benefits of relaxing enjoyable music and cheerful conversation are well known and acknowledged as an important aid to regaining health.

I very much hope that all of the patients make a full recovery and get well soon.

Bruce George,

MP Walsall South.
