WHR Saddler's Commentator Richard Cross

"Passion is of the essence when it comes to commentating the Saddler's matches, depending on the situation. Without it, then a mere formality would ensue. Over the last quarter of a century or so, WHR has broadcast regular coverage of the home matches. Some people, including myself, have undertaken this privilege in such a way that when something good happens, a verbal overdrive of emotion, however large or small would become prominent to illustrate the Saddler's advantage. Memories of that dramatic winning goal v Reading at the Millennium Stadium in May 2001 readily spring to mind. However, should the Saddler's find themselves falling behind, words would still of course be required promptly to describe the Saddlers position, however difficult it may seem at first, if passion is anything to go by. One new dimension that I had managed to add to the station's coverage of the Saddler's matches was the away matches, however near or far, thanks to modern technology. To date I have managed to report and commentate on the Saddlers matches at around fifty different venues. This new dimensional trend has been in full swing since that unbelievable day of euphoria at the Millennium Stadium. My ambition is to cover the Saddler's at every League ground up and down the country.

Apart from the action that has happened on the field of play, part of my plan is to mention a few notable statistics, like specifying what number of League visit the Saddler's are playing to the opposition as well as the last time the Saddlers conquered the venue in the question however recent or distant. Although their recent away form leaves a great deal to be desired. I have taken great pride in undertaking a task that few stations of our ilk have done when it comes to covering the away matches. To see the Saddler's win as well as lose is very much a case of taking the rough with the smooth. Follow the Saddler's on WHR - home or away."
