Want to be part of a radio station?

Home

Walsall Hospital Radio provides  a free service to the patients of Walsall Manor Hospital 24 hours a day 365 days of the year. To do this we rely on the generosity of sponsors, and the goodwill of volunteers. It's not all about making programmes and playing records - there's administration, patient liaison, technical works, fundraising activities as well as a host of mundane uninteresting tasks that we won't list in case you fall asleep reading them. It's all important and it keeps the station running. Our presenters have varied interests and their shows reflect this - think of every radio station you've ever heard and enjoyed - that's what we want to broadcast to the patients of Walsall Manor Hospital. If you have an idea for a programme and an ambition to present it, come to us with it first. We'll train you and help you develop your idea. Who knows where it will lead?  Tushar Makvana and Paul Bryant started with us and ended up as presenter on Heart FM. Paul Marriot went on to join BBC WM. Dozens of others used our t raining to further their education, going on to university courses in all parts of the country.  Of course, not everyone has such ambitions. We're pleased to have retained a number of presenters for over ten years - some for longer - they just won't go home, so we find them something to do.
